Great deal, this laptop has ips and HD+ screen so it is pretty good.
Sseries 9 is also very good display is mate and imo looks as good as the ips. Anyway I ended up buying a macbook air for just a few bucks more. I just couldn't get used to windows 8. Btw the yoga has way too much plastic. Series 9 has outdated gpu(hd3000) You can see the 3 laptops at your local frys. |

You will not find another ultrabook with upgradable RAM and an extra SSD slot at this price. I bought the Yoga because of this. However, the wifi issues are real. Mine has weaker wifi than most laptops around me. It's not a big problem for me but it can be annoying.

I tried the Yoga for a month but returned it- I found that it was a solid laptop but I never really used the Yoga's swiveling hinge option (except to show other people that it was possible). The tablet mode is also strange, because you feel the keyboard on the other side while holding it. I did not have any issues with the trackpad or wifi. I did notice the fan noise when playing games or streaming internet, but as a previous poster mentioned, only in a quiet room.
I ended up getting a samsung series 9- same processor, same integrated graphics card. It works better for what I use it for- just as a regular laptop without the touch screen. I couldn't get used to Win 8 and I'm back to Win 7. I also prefer the matte screen as the glossy screen on the yoga can be difficult to get used to, but that's personal preference. Nice post though OP- great price. |

Hinges are the same kind as on T line - steel; they are absolutely indestructible. Single channel vs Dual is an old debate: tests might show maybe 5% performance difference but in real life it is close to zero. Tablet feature is more of a novelty. I turn on the tablet mode when I give it to kids to play games. |

The Yoga is probably the best convertible machine on the market, right now. Is the wifi card user replaceable on the Yoga 13? If so then just swap it out with something better.
But I do I think better things are coming soon. I'm waiting for the Lenovo Helix. When I first held an iPad I knew it was just a big iPhone, but I knew it was going to change things for the better. The Helix looks to be the best example of that change. |

Sure, my Best Buy model probably received 1-2 years worth of wear/abuse in the 6 months since the machine came out, but that's still worrisome. That's what I mean by wear and tear. Since the hinge pivots twice, it doesn't seem like they were able to design in enough resistance to hold the screen up as the hinge loses strength over time. |
