Does this happen with only two tabs open? If no, then what happened is that you ran into Windows' limit for previews. Eventually when a program reaches so many windows (IE reports tabs to Windows as separate windows for preview purposes) the taskbar displays a list on preview instead of mini preview windows.
Steve Gibson on password policies [grc.com]: I mean, I don't get this change it every eight weeks. ... It's not as if passwords are traveling by camel after they've been stolen, going to the bad guys, and so there's, like, some weird eight-week window, like, oh, we're going to change your password so that the stale password no longer works. ... And all this does is make IT people despised because users, who are not dumb, they think, why am I - why do I have to do this? What problem is this solving?

Unchecking "Show previews for individual tabs in the taskbar" prevents IE from reporting tabs as windows and made things work the way I wanted them to. Nice to have this option though for people who prefer it. This just gets to be kind of worthless when you have so many tabs the list scrolls off the screen. |
