Kindle eReader WiFi 6" E-Ink Display (pre-owned D01100) $35

Mine came in today and it has one little spot on the back that almost looks like a
factory ding. Other than that the unit looks brand new. This was listed as a five so i would
like to see the sixes that they had.

Just curius why when its turned off am I getting ads?

received a 5 & a 6 today. I couldn't tell a difference between the two, no scratches, no marks. Also, I don't know if these are supposed to come with ads, but they aren't on either two (granted, I have not connected to wifi or registered them yet so that might change. they are gifts).

Just a heads up, the Kindle I received needed several software updates to get on the latest software version. I believe it eventually does this automatically, but you can force it to check for updates over wifi in the settings (you can also download and install via USB).

This is the Kindle model that was discounted at purchase because it shows you ads and special offers. The e-ink screen does not draw power while showing a static image, so when the device is turned off, Amazon puts an ad on there for you to look at. If you don't want to see ads, you can go to the Manage Your Kindle screen on Amazon and pay $20 to remove them.

The ads don't come up until you set up the Kindle; they download over the wifi connection.

Thanks, I'll just usb load all my books from Amazon PC kindle reader to avoid the ads, I don't need the wifi connection.

Anyone know of a reading light to get to go with these. I was a Kindle noob and was stupid in not doing research to see if these were back lit or not. The lights I see on Amazon cost a little less then half of what the freaking Kindle did...LOL

Not yet. I still haven't found anything. Everything I find sends me to an item on Amazon that's no longer available.

I found a forum for Kindles owners tonight which I'm going to look in the buy/sell forum to see if someone may have a light from an older Kindle they want to get rid of.

I ordered two of these Kindles a grade 5 and a grade 6, the 5 came last Friday in original packaging but open. The grade 6 came today not in original packaging in white cardboard with clear wrap tightly put over it. This surprised me because I thought it would have been the opposite with the lower grade one coming with no original packaging and the higher grade in original packaging. The 2nd one also came with no packing slip or paperwork of any kind.

yeah, cowboom is really random. The ratings only indicate the overall condition of the product, as it appears, and not really how close to a "new" product it might be.
