i've actually been leaving them a few feet from my furnace to dry the SPORT. sprinkling on baby powder or related one a week helps as well.

ONE THING to do is NOT to let these get wet in the rain/snow. I was wearing them around everywhere and walked in the rain with them. They smelled awful a few days later and I used the baking soda/bleach method to clean them (but was out of commission for a few days since I only had one pair).

mine are pretty snug at size 40 (perfect fit almost) and I haven't tried the toe socks.

also, imo, the inj toe socks are not worth the $6 a pair or whatever they charge (I have 3 from a 'sale').

Any flat-footed runners have experience with these?

I'm also a size 14 but, IMHO, these things are fugly. I would honestly rather go around barefoot. I also fail to see how these things would be much better than a pair of thinly soled shoes.

When mine start to smell I bring em in with me when I take a shower. I put some body wash in the FiveFingers, closer to the toes, then I put them on and try to work int he soap by 'crunching' my toes in the shower. Seems to work pretty well. Air dry afterwards.

These (or any properly designed minimalist shoe) are designed to allow your toes to spread when your forefoot strikes the ground, as it would do naturally if your feet were bare (amongst other things). So a thinly soled shoe will work as well provided it has a wide enough toebox.

If you're interested in a minimalist shoe that is a little more conventional looking, New Balance makes the Minimus line that you can actually graduate down to help transition from sneakers to minimalists. There are a ton of options out there.

merrel makes shoes without the toes with the vibram sole .... i have tried them but prefer the actual vibrams ... it might take a week or 2 to get used to wearing them but after that its just like wearing gloves, comes very naturally ..

people on the fence abt using this to run ... my advice is to switch to these ... i was initially running in the bulky gt2140 , 2160 .... and was having a lot of pain in the calves ...after switching to vibrams all pain is gone ...
my long runs are usually 8-10 miles and they r in the vibrams
