Thats what I`m afraid of, that buying now might be a bit of a mistake, but I need to do dual booting Ubuntu and would like to play with Ubuntu touch alpha.

For the low price difference right now there is no point in getting 8gb/16gb, it better to have wasted space then to regret that you dont have enough space... specially at this price point....

I've never returned anything on ebay or filed any claim against a seller, but if I did have to, I wouldn't feel as bad doing it to a huge company like tiger direct than to an individual person.

I don't have the largest hands by any means and I can still easily grip the Nexus 7 comfortably. I hope the next version is the nexus 8, larger screen but the same form factor as the 7.

It's been quite a while since Nexus 7 has come, any updates anticipated?

Its a nexus device, they are the first to see any updates from Google. Unless you have the Verizon version, then you get screwed over lol.

That is exactly why I stopped selling anything on eBay ages ago. The last item I "sold" was a copy of Windows 7 Ultimate I received from Microsoft for attending its workshop. This is exactly the same product you'd pay $$$ at the store, except in a different packaging. I had photos and descriptions of the actual product on the auction. Buyer receives it, opens it (why?), and files a complain on Paypal saying it's not what he ordered. I had to take the return and pay for both ways because Paypal tends to side with the buyer, of course. Idiots will be idiots.

The problems are mostly OS related, google tablet entitled soonest OS upgrade from google often addressed these problem. For android device, I'd prefer only from google precisely for the OS upgrade benefit while google now upgrade fairly frequently. There have been 3 (2 major, 1 minor) upgrades since its release (32gb) 4 months ago, whereas samsung tablets are no where near getting these upgrades in time.

The next gen nexus 7 and a new 8" edition rumored to be released in google IO conference this May will feature 2GB RAM and faster cpu, but reaching to this price point would be a year from now. Next gen iPad mini (8") will also be beefed up to retina display and 2GB ram. The benefit of 7" however is it can fit in most cloth pocket while 8" is a bit too big while 8" makes the screen reading more comfort.

In 3 months at Google IO conference this year, along with google glass ($1500), that's the annual event google release all their new gadgets.
