Not a bad deal if you need an ipad now. Might be a good idea to wait on the ipad 5 if you already have an ipad 3. The ipad 3 is pretty much the same as the 4.

Agreed, I personally skipped getting the 4 since I already have a 3. Granted the CPU and GPU are both twice as fast in the 4 compared to the 3.

Bought the Ipad 3 from him and haven't had any problems with it yet

Not much different from other top electronics brands just that Apple used to control the retail price to not let the retail price drop by controlling the supply and with marketing dollar incentives (they would throw in dollars for marketing the product if the retail price was not disounted). Most premium brand companies try to do this.

With increased competition and a glut of iPads in the supply chain and used/refurbished markets, they have started to lose that control. There are also revenue pressures from Wall Street to move more units. Hence the increased advertising on TV, etc for iPads recently.

This guy gets the limited supply the same way the grocery chain Shoprite did recently for the yet to be beaten deal so far on the new iPads when I bought one.

True, It is faster, but unless you play graphics intensive games, you won't notice it. Most people just play angry birds, temple run etc. You don't notice on those games. The screen is equal in both as well. The next ipad will be lighter, slighter and faster. The thing that bothers me the most about the 3 and 4 is how heavy it is. If you have to hold it for any extended period of time, it is a bit annoying.
