Try pinching the bezel in certain areas to see if the buzzing goes away. I found my 5 year old Plasma that has been wall-mounted since .. 5 years ago has the same buzzing, but I've mitigated it with some plastic clamps

50 is 10" smaller, but has 3d and other features. Depends if you want size or 3d,Smart, etc. Neither is "better".

ST50 is the model line. The number BEFORE the ST is the screen size... so a 50ST50 is smaller, but a 60ST50 is the same size.

But of course the 60ST50 is not the same PRICE. It's over twice as much.

Yes. The "U" series is the entry-level set. The "ST" series is the entry of their higher-end sets with the better panels. For 2012, the series go VT>GT>ST>UT>XT>U.

You'll note that this set is a "U54", which is all but identical to the more common "U50"... both "U" series, but the 50 and 54 are only there for purposes of the resellers wanting different model numbers to prevent price-matching.

Now whether it is "much" better is a matter of debate. It may be noticeably better, but is it $1000 better? That's a different question entirely.

The ST has quite a number of features over the "U". I was just making a generalization about it having a higher-end panel, one feature of which is, yes, the anti-glare screen. Another very obvious difference is that the "U" is not a 3D set, unlike the whole rest of the lineup.

Agreed- some people really value the anti-glare, or the 3D. Personally i judt want a plain great picture

Like someone mentioned they removed to coupon for EPP. If you use EPP the price drops to $799 and the coupon is disabled.

Plasma TVs suck twice the juice of a LCD or LED....just sayin ! ! !

Is this better than UT50?

I just bought this unit at Sams Club last week. It was $750 in store, but it shows $800 online. It is a really nice TV for the money.
