Need an air purifier for around 840sqft basement.

Looking for an air purifier for my basement. I already run a dehumidifier but I want to ensure the air quality is good. Going to eventually finish the basement and make it a living space.

Anybody care to share consumer reports on best purifiers?

The square footage that you want to cover is a lot for a home air purifier to handle. You might want to look into installed units, vs. the regular home air purifiers. You didn't mention a price range, personally, I think that the Blueair 450E is the "best of the best" home purifier, but it's designed for small areas (around 365 square feet). Most air purifiers are designed to purify the air in a single room. The best one (in the top ten at least) for a larger area is the Rabbit Air BioGS, it is tested for 600 square feet. It still may not cover your entire area, but it will come close. The Blueair comes in at just under $550 while the Rabbit Air comes in at just under $350. If you are looking for something on a budget, that is also highly rated, I would go with the Surround Air XJ-3800, it is made to cover 600 square feet and runs around $200. Note that it received a 6.58 out of 10 compared with the 10 the Blueair received and the 9.58 the Rabbit Air received.

Thanks for the info. I think I will consider the rabbit air, depending on price $329 seems to be the regular. It is a basement which is wide open so I think the 600sqft will do well in the space. I was pricing whole house units but I don't wanna over filter my house air if I don't have to. My house is 5 yrs old and nobody has allergies here. Our basement get no airflow though which is why I want to do this.

Edit: It appears the rabbit gsbio is not in stock most places and the filters are a bit more expensive. I think I'm gonna pick up a Surround Air XJ-3800, seems to have good reviews and filters are about $30. It also has a uv lamp which is a plus for me. Thanks
