For those of you looking for a good/affordable meter, look into GE (general electric) brand meter and strips. At my pharmacy I sell the meter for $8.50 and 50 strips run about $18. The GE meter is also top of the mark in terms of accuracy, the only one that can compete with them is One Touch when it comes to test accuracy.

Also, the good thing about these testing strips is that they aren't hard-coded with a use by date, so you don't have to use them within a month or two. Some of the testing strips still do this. I think Bayer gives you a few years to use them. Better to have more time than less. That's what your mother loves, I suspect. |
