Just did my own chat on the Ink recycling before the 3/15 Program change. Up til the 14th we are still under the old Program; get those inkls in before the 14th to get rewards without buying $30 worth of ink

Just did a chat and got this from the rep,
I'm attaching a scan of something that printed out with my ink recycling receipt this morning, spelling out the changes to the program. In a nutshell, it involves buying $30 in ink or toner every 180 days. Can still recycle 10 carts per month for a base or plus customer or 20 for a premier customer. Also posted this in post #430, in case it disappears from the wiki.
Another interesting note: Seems like you have to be a plus or premier member to be able to recycle ink! "up to 10 per calendar month per Plus customer or up to 20 per calendar month per Premier customer" - Incorrect. Both Base and Plus customers can recycle 10/month. See my entry above this and the 2nd attachment on this wiki (or post 430).
I think the real question is "whether or not the ink recycle from 03/01-03/14 required $30 toner/ink purchase in order to get the reward on April?"
Can anyone confirm with Staples Rewards CSR? and update the wiki?

If they have double-double at least every quarter, you can fill the $30 ink requirement pretty easily.

Spend $120/year to keep $480 in Rewards. 5% on the $1k spend (minimum) we are all doing anyway will offset $50 of that cost. $2,400 for break even. Shouldn't be an issue for most of us to hit $2,400/year. Could be worse I suppose.
ETA - actually, could be better. I'm sure most of us exceed $2,400/year, so it will mean more Rewards in the end. Last edited by rubadub; 02-25-2013 at 02:23 PM.. |

The manager wasn't exactly sure how the $30 in ink every 90 days works. If you only need to buy ink once every 3 months that'snot that big of a deal Double double promo could possibly get you though march, April, and May.
I just got 350 ink cartridges delivered today. Wish I would have known before I ordered this could possibly drop the demand for empty ink cartridges. |

There just used to be Base and Premier. Now there's Base, Teacher Base, Plus, Premier, and Teacher Premier. |

i knew this is going to come sooner or later.
staples is going downhill. thank god that officedepot & officemax merged. so now they can survive a little longer than i expected. they must stay in business to compete with just 1 officedepot now instead of several before. eventually they will go out of business though. cutting 4 hrs/day and half day on sunday are just good signs for any investors to know it's coming. |
