Starting march 15th there's going to be a change in the rewards program. Nrw changes include 5% rewards on all items and also you must purchase $30 in ink every 180 days to get recycling rewards.

Just did my own chat on the Ink recycling before the 3/15 Program change. Up til the 14th we are still under the old Program; get those inkls in before the 14th to get rewards without buying $30 worth of ink

Quote from chat:
Initial Question/Comment: Hello, I am trying to figure out this new recycling program. I just recycled my inks for this month and need to know if I am under the old program or do the rules of the new program (3/15/13 )already apply & I now have to buy $30 in ink before this latest reward is posted to my Premiere rewards account
12:19:37 PM : Rachel: Hi Premiere Customer. As the new program does not go into effect until March 15, anything done prior to that date will remain under the current program.

If the double/double deal is true, and you can indeed recycle up to 10 (or 20 for premier) cartridges, for those buying HP Ink, there is a $15 shell gift card if you buy $99 in ink:

http://www.iteminfo.com/ItemInfoF...-99buy.pdf

Just did a chat and got this from the rep,
Quote :
• $30 ink recycling minimum spend. Customers qualify for ink and toner recycling Rewards when they spend $30 or more on ink or toner within 180 days of recycling their cartridges. Once the minimum spend is met, which can be done over multiple purchases, they will be eligible to receive $2 back up to their monthly limit.
I'm attaching a scan of something that printed out with my ink recycling receipt this morning, spelling out the changes to the program. In a nutshell, it involves buying $30 in ink or toner every 180 days. Can still recycle 10 carts per month for a base or plus customer or 20 for a premier customer. Also posted this in post #430, in case it disappears from the wiki.

Another interesting note: Seems like you have to be a plus or premier member to be able to recycle ink! "up to 10 per calendar month per Plus customer or up to 20 per calendar month per Premier customer" - Incorrect. Both Base and Plus customers can recycle 10/month. See my entry above this and the 2nd attachment on this wiki (or post 430).

I think the real question is "whether or not the ink recycle from 03/01-03/14 required $30 toner/ink purchase in order to get the reward on April?"
Can anyone confirm with Staples Rewards CSR? and update the wiki?

Just because I don't buy from staples does not mean i am not buying ink.
very true but that is the exact reason they implement this change.

This is still confusing to me. So if I recycle 20 carts a month for 6 months and don't buy $30 worth of ink, I forfeit my rewards.

But if I recycle 20 a month for six months and buy $30 worth of ink within 180 days, I get my full check when? At the end of the 180 days, once I buy the ink and up to the period when the 180 days is up?

What if I don't buy the $30 worth of ink until close to the end of the 180 days? Do they just hold onto my rewards until I make that purchase?

Recyle CARTRIDGE (10 or 20) 03/2013, rewards issued ($20 or $40) if purchasing $30 INK before 09/2013
Recyle CARTRIDGE (10 or 20) 04/2013, rewards issued ($20 or $40) if purchasing $30 INK before 10/2013
Recyle CARTRIDGE (10 or 20) 05/2013, rewards issued ($20 or $40) if purchasing $30 INK before 11/2013
Recyle CARTRIDGE (10 or 20) 06/2013, rewards issued ($20 or $40) if purchasing $30 INK before 12/2013
Recyle CARTRIDGE (10 or 20) 07/2013, rewards issued ($20 or $40) if purchasing $30 INK before 01/2014
Recyle CARTRIDGE (10 or 20) 08/2013, rewards issued ($20 or $40) if purchasing $30 INK before 02/2014................

That is pretty clear now. Even if you are premier, after ebay EMPTY INK cost, no much profit left unless you can sell $360 of INK purchase from STAPLES for something??? Wink

The verbage from the pdf file ofter the rewards was intended for REGULAR Staples Customers who maybe recycle maybe 2 or 3 times a day, NOT folks here!!! -Smilie GOT IT! -Smilie So fantasize 180 days however you can until the truth hits you right in the face! -Smilie

who knows but I guess there is a good chance the $30 worth of ink have to be purchased every month if you turn in cartridges every month.

All speculation at this point. You guys are quite the analyzers/OVER analyzers. The program isn't live for another 2.5 weeks and already we've given it more thought than Staples did when they made the new criteria up.

Just wait until they release the actual memo before spouting off what you think the logistics will be.

Where exactly did you find this? I couldn't see anything certain from the memo.

the point is that it sheds light on how the program will be going forward...

those are the economics when HP is sponsoring/subsidizing a Promotion to move it's overpriced ink out of the channel and to help provide price support

when it's just staples subsidizing the program.. you have to be pretty naive to think the economics are going to be BETTER than the HP double ink
they've been doing the double ink promo with the exact same math for years...

Don't believe there is a limit in the store. Tenderidol posted one time they used 14 or 16 coupons/rewards on one transaction.

For all of you wondering about the IP tracking thing, it's kind of really foggy. IPs are not static when assigned by your provider. They are dynamically assigned. So they don't have a solid base.

http://www.youhavedownloaded.com/

site above shows if you downloaded anything "movie like" using torrents. It is based out of IP addresses. The site is constant attack of critics on the point that they track IP and downloads and IPs are dynamic. But if you do go there, they know what you did last summer Big Grin Big GrinBig Grin :Lmao:

Edit: Wow, just opened up their site and they say the same thing right on their STICKY PAD ! I guess critics won lol.

Not necessary... I use cable ISP and my IP address has not changed for months if not over a year. The scary thing is when I opened the map app under windows 8 for the first time, it knows exactly where my location is.
