I believe that they just came out with a 650ti recently, but it's nothing to write home about (it's just a little better than 7770). As the others mentioned, the 1GB 7850 is the best bang for the buck right now.

I noticed that too. It's not just GPUs though; prices have been a little high on just about all PC components (especially SSDs). I'm kicking myself in the ass right now for not jumping on a SSD deal last summer/fall. I also see that microcenter got rid of the i7 combos and also raised the price of the i5-3570k. You're right, prices of tech should decrease as time passes, not increase. I don't know what's going on anymore.

well, if your happy with 120gb then i recommend getting the kingston from staples. its like 80 dollars i think. the v300. you can use that with the 25off75 and bring that lower. a year ago i got the agil 3 for about 70 doing that. only prob tho, 120gb is a bit small for me, i prefer the 250gb so that i can install more games and not worry about limited storage. and you are right, pc components increased: mbs, rams, gpu, even power supplies. before i can get away with a rocketfish 700w or the 900w for like 30-50. now its near the 100s. good thing i got a spare in case i ever have a new build.

Exactly my thoughts. I can't recommend a GTX 560Ti for $130 when the 7850 gets like 20% better performance.

The 7850 is one "iteration" higher than the 560Ti, but clearly at a similar price, the 7850 is a no-brainer.

I swear I saw the 560ti recently for less than this, but of course now I can't find it. Was it the 650 maybe?

Good for rough gauging. It doesn't account for overclocking overheards which vary from generation to generation and differ per Nvidia/AMD.

I actually stumbled upon a decent SSD deal at Staples. I scored a 240GB v300 for about $115. That would probably be very YMMV for most as I was able to stack the OD 30% with the 20% staples bag coupon. Wasn't even trying to get the 20% off applied, but they did it anyway. That particular Staples is certainly my favorite one now. I almost grabbed the 120GB version, but glad I didn't as it would require constant maintenance to keep it under 100GB. I didn't think of it before, but the prices of the AMD GPUs might be a little higher lately because of the games that included with them; they're high end games that aren't even released yet and the 79XX cards come with Crysis 3 and another game. I'm sure that Crysis 3 will retail at $60 and stay that way for a while if it's good.
