Also for android phones you would have to buy the pretty expensive cable for all of this to work out :S. However, with this low price I guess it would be semi-worth it.

According to multiple users you just need the appropriate HDMI cable. The official Pioneer cable is not needed.

Pioneer announced it's 2013 line last month and they have several units with AppRadio features, but they are ~$1000 and beyond (and probably still won't support Android devices well enough to not use ARLiberator).

However, I would only suggest purchasing this if you can use ARLiberator. Also, I was successful in using a micro HDMI adapter and the inline USB to skip buying the Android kit from Pioneer.

With this you get all of the installation gear (wire harness, Metra dash kit), instructions, support, and the Android connectivity kit. Yep. Those of us getting in on this (at least myself and a few others, can't speak for everyone) are going to use this with a rooted Android phone and an app ($35) called ARLiberator. It allows you to mirror your phone to the HU screen. Reviews are only reviewing the unit, not this extra capability provided by the app.

Looks that way, but the Crutchfield deal plus $25 coupon posted above is much better after the rebate, if you don't mind dealing with it.
