I played with both this phone and the Nexus today at Sam's Club. Nexus definitely feels like a better phone overall (as it should), but for the $100 less and using most for text and talk, I'm fine with the L9. Problem is, once again all Targets are out of stock. And BB won't touch the price match with the $50 gift card. Hoping it's early enough in the week Target will get more in stock. Employees were clueless and tried pointing me to other more expensive contract phones. That's their job so no biggie. Fingers crossed the L9 comes back in stock.

I hear ya, but do you think maybe things have changed since LG has become the manufacturer of Google's own flagship phone? I'm no expert in this subject matter though.

Agree currently it may be the best available deal. But TMobile sells this phone online for the same deal every now and then.

any1 here know if this phone works on ATT without data once it's unlocked?
I hear if it doesn't get detected, you don't need data.

I'm definitely no expert either, but my guess would be no. The N4 gets updates because of Google, not LG. My guess is the L9 will not be getting any OS updates, especially when Tmobile stops selling it.

Sad. Wife got the phone, though, and t-mobile's hack of ICS isn't too bad....at least for her.

yes tmo has the same deal often, $200 with the $50 prepaid. add in the cashback and that basically pays for the tax.

deal expired, but keep checking, target stores are out, i think it's a done deal they're probably getting rid all of em, for new models

The phone works just fine with installed Android version. It will continue to do so even if it never gets updated. The lack of updates is only a problem for someone who counts on getting a cheap phone with the latest OS. If you are happy with Android 4.0 you don't need to care. Go to a store and play around with different phones if you are not sure.

I wonder if you can price match this at Walmart.
