And take note, I have two plasmas, one I just bought (Samsung 43) and it will be going back due to glare issues in our bedroom. In this case the bedroom windows are on the opposite wall of the TV, producing glare. Even then it's only mildly distracting, my wife thinks I'm crazy actually. |

And for the third time: Because of the laws of physics, windows at roughly a 90 degree angle to the TV (or behind it obviously) will not create visible glare when viewing it from a normal viewing distance/angle. This is NOT my personal opinion, this is hard fact. If you can take a mirror of similar size and place it where the TV is, sit in the normal viewing spot and not see a window or bright light source in the reflection, you will not have glare issues. End of discussion. |

And best buy is a horrific place to look at plasmas. The bright white fluorescent lights 30 feet in the air are at exactly the right angle to maximize glare. I actually own two seperate plasmas and neither have anti-glare coating on them. Do you own any plasmas? |

Picked up the "Panasonic TC-P50U50 VIERA 50-inch Class U50 Series Full HD Plasma HDTV" was
$ 799 -200 =599 - 10% and FREE shipping using the Dell store instead. I did get it my cart and called Dell for the 10 percent and free shipping. Not bad for us as we are not big into 3D. This deal was hard to find elsewhere. Last edited by TREYSON17; 02-26-2013 at 11:10 PM.. Reason: correction |

I agree with you, though. I have a 5 year old Panasonic plasma (it was their low end at the time) without anti-glare. It's just fine. The newer non-anti-glare sets aren't more reflective than they used to be (I don't know what kind of physics some people are using to come to the conclusion that they made glass more reflective), it's just that modern ant-glare treatments are a hundred times better than they used to be. I've got a huge sliding glass door in my livingroom and it never really becomes an issue. When it does (in the middle of the afternoon), I have two options. Sit directly in front of the screen so the light isn't reflected at me or close the blinds. Either way, there's a solution to the problem. |

Does anyone know where to buy the media console for keeping the DVD player. Wife has lot of weird specs (need to be completely enclosed, minimize glass doors) and unable to find one. My Panny is flat mounted
