Older McAfee AV's have been notoriously bad at stopping real deal malware and trojans but for FREE you cannot go wrong with this. Got 1 thanks.

Sure you can. The thing's an utter resource hog and after it expires it'll send you popups every day or so with YOUR COMPUTER IS AT RISK!!?!!!!! until you completely uninstall the damn thing. On my ~3 year old laptop when it ran a full virus scan the computer slowed down so much that you literally *couldn't* do anything else. I wouldn't touch McAfee with a 10' pole right now...

LOL..I couldn't agree more about the part when you have this crap installed thinking your system is safe while all the time some trojan/malware is slowly taking it over.

In this case, hopefully the actual cost will be $0 after the rebate and I get a $10 gift card.
I'll mostly gift this to someone or will install it on my older laptop where its a given that the OS be re installed every other month.

To your point..yes please don't use this expecting it to keep your system safe from even mid level threats.

eh the dell deal was better. $30 for a $50 gift card. No rebates.

You should be. Total Protection and AntiVirus Plus are different products.

Already dipped for McAfee1PC AV for the free Malwarebytes. Different promotion but sounds like McAfee will deny based on that.

The way most rebates work is, they just need to be different offer numbers in order to be eligible. So if thats a different offer number(it would have to be) im sure its fine.

I think what he's asking is "can the rebate amount exceed the amount paid"? Some rebates will only pay you UP TO what you paid. Now, that being said, most people would consider a gift card a form of payment, but the rebate processor folks might think otherwise.

I've heard from multiple McAfee rebate "veterans" that it's limit one per UPC (product) per calendar year, not limit one per offer number.
