I am a total complete newbie when it comes to video and photoshooting ,but would you guys say that this camera is great for professional video recording?

Anyways, no this cam isn't a pro video cam because its design to take picture first and it's missing a lot of pro features to make smaller and cheaper |

I have the nex5R already... I wanted to upgrade to this but they removed the touch screen feature!? That makes no sense... That's quite a deal breaker

so lenswise, this actually is the cheapest way right now to have a full frame, thats right, full frame mirrorless goodness.
get the nex 6N, get the metabones speedbooster (600 bucks, not cheap), and you can mount canon ef lenses, with full (albeit very slow) autofocus, and aperture control, which will give you the light gathering, dof, of fov as if they were mounted on a full frame sensor. dpreview first impressions [dpreview.com] You can pair this with a 35 f2, 50 1.8, and 85 1.8, are reasonably small lenses, or a tamron 28-75 2.8 (no autofocus) and end up with still a relatively inexpensive, compact setup. it will make your 35 f2 equivalent to buying a 24 1.4 (instead of zeiss 24 1.8) and your 50 1.8 as if you are buying a 35 1.2. you are talking about a sig initial investment in the speedbooster, but if you are going to drop serious dough on superfast, and hard to find prime, it will more than pay for itself. |

I do miss the touchscreen of the 5N (not so much on the 5R, resistive sucks) but Sony still lags behind Olympus in making the touchscreen really useful (for touch shutter). On the OM-D or E-PL5 you can touch the focus point and it will take the shot instantly and be perfectly in focus. The 5N doesn't have this feature and the 5R's touch shutter is too unreliable (blurred shots/out of focus). |
