I've been using a Crucial m4 for 2 years now, not a single issue whatsoever. Not even a hiccup.

SSD Drive is out of stock at Staples as per your link |

http://www.hardocp.com/article/20...S0tQzewVDg They said it it did better than the Samsung 240GB TLC which would be the Samsung 840 I believe. |

It was there when I posted it...and is / was available in 8/10 stores around me, I bought it yesterday in store, and they had it, but said they could order it if it wasn't, as I was vascillating between the 2 different sizes. Try the "reserve" in store option, with the 20% off option. |

I'm really tired of seeing 840's hit front page every other day at $150, shouldn't that be a sign for you guys that this is no longer a good price for this product)? $150 is now essentially the everyday price , bring it to $120-130 and then i'll say it's front page worthy. Not to mention this model does not come with a kit.
Additional rant: Yesterday's $140 seemed okay to be FP because you could get it with no tax in CA (also the case for today). If you plan to sell ACIII (~$15) and live in CA, then this is a good deal, but that isn't the case for everyone. |

The difference between TLC and MLC is negligible, unless of course you're in IT and building machines for enterprise. With just the average consumer use, the nand memory on this drive will last 7 years [anandtech.com]. Even five years from now it will be cheap to replace this SSD with another, at the rate SDD prices are dropping. Anyone considering switching from HDD to SSD with their own personal computers would do fine by this drive. |

I wouldn't worry too much about HardOCP's estimate of the drive's lifespan.
The formula they use: life in years = ( cycles * capacity ) / ( write amplifcation * GB per year) The TLC NAND in this drive is rated at 1000 P/E cycles. Capacity is the size of the drive. GB per year is 3650 assuming 10GB/day. Write amplification differs by workload. HardOCP assumes it's 10x. The SSD's longevity depends on whether 10GB/day and 10x amplification reflects your workload. |

Used to say AC3 under "What's in the box". It's not there anymore, pretty sure it's dead.
