Yeah thats lame!! A warehouse should not be the reason why they should charge tax as they dont have retail store or anything..

Well... These decisions are made high up in the ladder. The only reason to buy from amazon will be tax and service and walmart or target offers the same service and no reason to stick with Amazon.

Dont know if fulfillment orders will be taxed as they are equally good and priced close for most products. But no more deals though!

Short answer is No. When you power it off it seems to go into some sort of standby mode. It will look off but still be connected to your router. To truly turn it off you have to hold down the power button but doing this makes it go through a long start up process that is highly annoying.

I have this device and overall I would advise against this product. The interface is extremely slow and clunky and the device locks up all the time. It seems to struggle with simple apps like Hulu and Netflix. My internet ready TV has no issues whatsoever with these apps. It mostly locks up with the apps but even now and then it will lock up when playing personal media. I'm just waiting for something better to come along and then this thing is going straight in the trash.

Mine was DOA also. I already sent it back and was refunded....

If you hit the power button, they go to *sleep*. If you hold the power button down for a few seconds, unit will turn completely off. When you turn unit back on, will take a minute or so to boot back up. If *asleep*, only takes a few seconds to wake up.

What is your upstream upload speed. Is it true you need at least 15Mbps because I'm a basic Internet customer with Upload speeds up to 1Mbps. They want an extra $20/month calming Speeds up to 50mbps.

I was wondering the same thing. I took a chance with another refurb from Eeedeals but if I get screwed again, I might just go the Amazon warehouse route.
