This is a little less watts, but I got 12 hours running (on 6.5 gal gas) :refrig, freezer, tv, stereo, 3 desktop pc's, 20 + lights, sump pump, hot H2O heater (gas / electric turn on) for 2 days with this.....http://www.amazon.com/Powermate-P...+PM0105007 and I paid more. But, this is cheaper.

After sandy we lost power for 3 days. Life with out electric could be fun..unless you have a 4 month old at the time and requires heat and clean bottles. Our water is well and after the storm wanted to boil as well...without a generator it would not be fun trying to keep the baby warm and bottles clean etc.
I have one from Costco 9000watt champion for $699.99 They also have one in store that runs on propane tanks or gas. Having 3 cars and knowing a storm is coming I obviously have 35 gallons of fuel and another 10 gallons in the garage I'm set for a 4 day power outage anyway. SLICKDEALS TO DATE:
Too many to name! |

this is garbage engine, get a real one that runs Diesel if u can, if u cant then get a Honda gas engine generator or a briggs and stratton gas engine generator. If they break they are easier to fix as parts a plentiful, i dunno where u are gunna find so westinghouse engine parts.

Their solar panels, however, will NOT supply power to the home without power from the grid. Unless you have an off-the-grid kind of setup - which is not typical - you'll be out of luck. Side note: I was able to run fridge, FIOS ONT and router, gas fired forced hot air heat, and the TV and Dish receiver with a Honda 2000. We didn't run it while we slept and we used maybe 1.5 gallons of gas a day. We'll be looking into an NG standy-by once demand for them tapers off. We could have probably powered a sump pump exclusive of the other loads but did not need to. |

Our family picked this model up during the sale Costco had in January. Once it finally arrived, it was well packed and assembled easily. Compared to less expensive models it seems to be very sturdy, almost overbuilt in some ways. The frame appears solid, the engine is well supported by vibration dampening mounts, and the wiring is nicely covered.
Included with the Generator is a quart of oil, tools to assemble, and a big bonus an octopus cable to plug in the 240 outlet that gives you 4 more 120 connections. Also of note is that you do get a battery for the electric start, some companies don't bother to provide one. Not sure about something the manual didn't seem to cover, I called customer service. In no time at all I had a live person on the phone who quickly answered my question to my full satisfaction. After assembly and adding oil and gas, we were able to start the generator right up with the press of a button. We found the generator very easy to move around with the large wheels and solid handles. Despite the rating, this generator is also very compact considering it's power output. We haven't had a power outage and therefore no real need to use the generator yet, but the experience thus far has been fantastic. This is a great product. That said, I know we paid a good deal less for it at Costco, so I might wait for a better deal myself. Try here if you'd like to know where you can get parts and service http://www.westpropower.com/find-dealer.iml or just allow me to save you some time and simply say that parts and service are easy to come by. Look how plentiful Honda and Briggs & Stratton engine parts are as compared to Westinghouse, and if u think Westinghouse is a known company for making generators then u have alot to learn my friend. Im sure the Westinghouse will get u by here and there, but i can bet my house its not where close to comparable to a Diesel, Honda, or Briggs and Stratton. Considering this Westinghouse cost close to a Briggs i would buy a Briggs over this Westinghouse anyday. Below is a example of a 7000W/9900W http://www.sears.com/briggs-strat...ockType=G1 |
