You can also get model data from wunderground that's pretty damn good for free.

Weird. I paid the $5 once back in 2003 and it just automatically extends it every year. I did have my weather station on their network many years ago - maybe they give free memberships to you then... I dunno. I'm just happy to still have my no-ads membership 10 years later.

What is so different from this website versus weather.com or google etc?

Intellicast.com has ads and no phone apps, but its amount of information is superior. You can find a relevant page (Doppler, NEXRAD) and then just bookmark it.

If you don't like ads, look into extensions for your browser to disable them!

This website will pay slickdeals to get new members, that's the difference. Wink

I'm not sure if that's true, just making a logical guess. Smilie

They don't name their winter storms, they must not be reliable.

Thanks OP. Now I can find the weather without being bombarded with stories about asteroids and giant crocodiles. Weather.com has practically become a tabloid.

Edit: For the record, I find both of those things interesting, but inappropriate for a weather website.

I might get this, although living in SoCal usually means SWDD......Same Weather, Different Day. Ha, even if it is just slightly drizzling, the local news channels start with their "Storm Watch" team.Big Grin

Unfortunately The Weather Channel bought wunderground last year Frown http://www.wunderground.com/blog/...rynum=2143

Hopefully everything will remain the same and it doesn't become another dumbed down source of weather.

Thanks for the heads up OP. wunderground in my go to weather site when I'm on my computer.

What is this?
A weather site that provides local & long range weather forecast, weather reports, maps & tropical weather conditions for locations worldwide.

Alternative sites
The Weather Channel [weather.com]
www.accuweather.com [accuweather.com]
www.intellicast.com [intellicast.com]
National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration [noaa.gov] and their National Weather Service [weather.gov] as well as their Storm Prediction Center [noaa.gov] and finally their Space Weather Prediction Center [noaa.gov]
http://www.spaceweather.com/
www.thefarkingweather.com [thefarkingweather.com] This isn't "farking" ... due to SDs censorship, you'll have to substitue "a" with "u" and "r" with "c"

Benefits of paying for Membership?
Enjoy the benefits of faster, ad-free content and longer radar animations for only $10 per YEAR.
  • Longer Radar Animations - Radar animations up to 40 frames in length (that's a 4 hour animation)!
  • Ad-Free Weather - We will remove all the ads from our site offering you cleaner, faster site access. No banners, no sponsor links, and this works for all pages including Favorites, Radar, and Severe Weather. You can then use your wunderground.com account from any location, disabling ads from your home, workplace, or other computers you use.
  • Ad-Free U.S. Forecasts & Alerts Through E-Mail - Our new email forecast and alert service is included with every membership.
