funny you got a good sense of humor!!! I guess some people need some common sense but again Common sense is not so common
Common is as common does
I live a stones throw away, and this would obviously be better for something like a sidewalk or porch vs breaking your back with a shovel. If you've got a long driveway, do yourself a favor and buy a gas-powered blower.
What you boneheads might want to try is to get out and do a interim clearing when the snow gets a couple of inches deep rather than wait until its over and 8inches deep and go..."Duh..the snow is too deep for this machine"....NO....The "Operator is not deep enough to operate the equipment"
Man I was looking for this deal when I still had a house and driveway.
Honestly people, a $100 electric blower isn't going to perform to the standards of a $500 gas one. I thought this was common sense? Do people seriously wait (unless it's a daytime storm and you are at work) for the snow to completely stop before shoveling? If the forecast calls for 12" of snow, for gods sake, save your back and shovel the first 6" and then again for the second 6". Do the same for this electric blower and you should be fine. I would rather run this thing 2-3x over my old driveway than wait for the full 1-2 feet and then try to push even a gas blower through that mess...
Agree with above, unless you have a hefty two stage you need to be out there every six inches. The Toro with the 15 amp is probably the best and most likely the best build quality.
Also if there is a menards in your area I just picked up the Snow Devil 18" 13 Amp blower for $99. Sure it takes a little while to clean the drive but it saves my back when the snow is wet and heavy like it is now.
Eventually I would like to find the snowthrower attachment for my old Bolens riding mower but until then this will serve its purpose.
