I own 11 or 12 different headphones. I have a bit of a headphone addiction. I agree with the above sentiment about hearing expensive higher end headphones can be both a blessing and a curse. For the person who loves music it can really open up a whole new level of enjoyment. But on the other end you also immediately notice what your old "phones" lack.
That being said I do own these headphones. I am a bit of an audio snob and have lots of gear so take that into consideration. I give the sound quality a 5/10. Decent bass, but found the upper end and mids to be very flat. The biggest gripe I have is comfort. These sit on the ear and I have an average sized head and after 10 minutes I have to take them off because the compression is so hard on my ears. These get so uncomfortable quick. Comfort is a 1/10. I would strongly suggest going to a local best buy with a Magnolia center and trying these out. The sound quality isn't bad for the price, but the fit is a deal breaker for me personally. |

I bought a pair the last time wwstereo had a special them, about 6 months ago. Pretty impressive sound that gets better after about 20 hours of break in. They are pretty rugged too, I use them on a daily NYC commute and a typical pair of earbuds/headphones gets shredded by now.
My only gripe is the tightness of the headphones, it gets uncomfortable if I use them for over an hour while wearing glasses. |

I demoed these locally and I will echo what others have stated; they are not comfortable. Sound quality is what you would expect from a portable headphone under $100 sub-par at best ( not all headphones but most). I was impressed with the build quality.
Best buy and brookstone both carry these headphones demo them before you buy. |

I ordered from them last year when it was $75 but it has already been opened. They put another sticker over the original one try to pretend it's new one. Although it looks like new, I am still angry they did it. It should consider refurbished because it has already been opened.

I must say the comfort on these is terrible. Also the cord is very annoying. Always knotted and won't go straight. Save your money. |

I own these and used to own HD598, I used HD598 for easy/relax listening since it's open, great sound stage. These have smaller sound stage but the bass is on the heavy side due to the closed cans, to some it's annoyance, to some it's heaven. Make sure it's your cup of tea.
