I was considering getting a Yamaha RX-V673 from Frys for $399. Any opinions about this being worth the extra $100? The Yamaha has all the features and inputs I need, so about the only thing that might steer me towards the Pioneer would be better audio quality. My 5.1 setup is made of Polk speakers, RTi28 bookshelves in the front. Thanks.
The pioneer has an additional HDMI and I think 5 more watts per channel. Also, for what it's worth, the Yamaha is a $650 MSRP where the Pioneer is a $900 MSRP. So I would say the Pioneer is a better value.

1.5 years ago I wanted a receiver I could not really afford at the time with all the house remodeling so I got the model below it that was comparable but lacked a couple of features I may never have used.
Went to best buy. Asked to buy it. Watched the manager's eye pop out of his head then tell the guy next to him to look at the price. Then the manager thanked me 5 times. Said he has been wanting one so bad for so long. He said this was so under their cost he has no idea why it would sell so low. At this point he is almost shaking/shivering he is so excited. I buy the last one in the store (Meyerland Houston) that was new (he is going to order his) I pay and then he thanks me again profusely.
Whatcha think?...... an open box for 420$....all accessories except manual included....y'all think I should buy the extended warranty since I got a good price? Looks like it mighty been a display unit too.
