With only 8GB of storage and 512MB of RAM, I think I'd spend the extra $50 for a Nexus 7 with double the amount of both of these. I know this has a Micro SD slot which can alleviate the storage issue but the RAM would be my main concern.

How does it work with these Android tablets. Are you limited to the version of Android that it comes with? For instance, can this be updated to 4.2 easily?
Depends on the device, some manufacturers auto update to the newer os you just have to tap. some don't. And mostly it depends on device I have a transformer tf101-a1 which went from android 3.0 to 4.0.4 but I don't think I am getting anymore updates and the manufacturer, ASUS, has put out 3 new models since I bought it so...
If your tech savy then sometimes you can update it yourself via info found on XDAdevelopers forum. but that only happens with the more common tablets.
