Too bad the V-mini bookshelves aren't on sale too. Kinda odd they would only put the center speaker on sale. Unless they are overstocked on them and trying to clear them out.
the other week the vmini bookshelves went on sale for $350 for 5.0 set up and $79 each. you just missed it.

is this timbre matched to energy CF-70?
i think that would be not a problem, i have 2 fronts rc 70 and i am using the v5.2c center. but before i purchased the center i contacted first energy if what is the ather alternative center for my fronts and they recommend the v5.2c right away. maybe as long as they are on the same brand? but i am not sure. i am not an audiophile. as long as it sounds good to me while watching movies i am happy. that is all that matters.

It's best to get a center that is timbre matched to your front L/R speakers.
I couldn't agree more! Do it right.

5 of these would work nicely as a perfectly matched surround setup
Except they have two sets of inputs and would really tax an entry level AVR if the inputs were jumped. IIRC, jumping would yield a 4 ohm load.

I want to match this with Pioneer Elite speakers (S-IW871-LR) for my HT. Could anyone suggest if this will be a good match?

Since these have been discontinued (I believe) we should see more deals on them. And probably cheaper.

Message to all-- NO this will not be a good match for anything other than Energy Veritas front speakers. You should buy the same brand/same tweeter as your front spkrs.

The appropriate center for CF-70 is too tall to fit into the built-in above my fireplace... And I'm not an audiophile... What about in my situation?
I guess ideally I would arrange to have a number of different center speaker choices on hand and get a few people who know what they are doing to come in and listen...

I have Klipsch Quintet 5.0 with klipsch RW-12d subwoofer with yamaha receiver. The center speakers seems pretty weak. Would someone recommended this for center speaker or some other kind? Thanks

Would you also recommend the same for a subwoofer? and a receiver (may be not; right)

If you mostly do movies, its not essential to timbre match. Most of the time different content is coming out of different speakers, so no biggie. However if you do music, you want everything to match tonally, so its more essential to match at least the same brand and speaker line, if not all the same speaker model.

Around these parts people just suggest staying with the same brand and line to avoid any issues down the road.

Well you do the best that you can then. Perhaps this speaker will sound close, I don't know. Its important in movies and music IMO--when a helicopter goes from left to right, it should sound the same coming from the center spkr.
