Oh man I just bought the nex 6 from the other front page deal today. What to do? Cancel the other order and buy this one? Is it worth the extra $200?
let me start by saying both are amazing cameras. image quality should be very similar as i believe they have the same sensor. nex5r has a touch screen which is nice and has a smaller/lighter more portable form factor.
the nex6 is slightly larger/heavier it boasts a view finder and capability to add a external flash down the road. it has a little easier mode control with a built in dial.
i would do some more homework on the differences and decide which is best for you extra features can be nice but sometimes worthless to individual users. either way i think you can go wrong with wither of the two imho.
How does this compare to NEX-3N with 16-50 thinner than the 18-55? I assume both have similar specs, but NEX-3N does not have wifi and touchscreen. Is it worth the wait to take on the NEX-3N, which will ship in March soon?
I ordered a nex-7 but cancelled it and bought a 5r, only limited use with it but so far it's pretty cool. I like it better than the c3 I had last year though after selling everything then I'm left with only the kit lens and 16mm pancake. The wifi is cool, using your phone or ipad is a neat trick but it slows the camera itself way down and functionality is limited. You have open the app in camera, on your phone, connect, etc etc, the impression the ads give is that you just *poof* magically whip out your phone and shoot away, but it's not quite that simple. Not a huge deal, but enough of one that I don't see myself using it. Touchscreen is of limit usefulness as well, at least so far. Shifting focus is all I can think of using for, text entry is a chore but it's a camera not a word processor. Right now trying to decide whether to buy the A mount adapter ($250) or the 35f18 ($4XX). Or sell it all and go rx100 since it's just for vacation purposes. The point, if I have one, is decide what kind of lenses you want and what you want the camera to do. Don't spend more than you have to, odds are if you are asking about cameras in a deal forum you won't see a difference in your pictures anyway, and the end result is what it's all about.
People who quote themselves probably shouldn't. If it were worth repeating someone else would do it.
I'm not too busy, I just don't care. At all.
