Costco has a PowerLand [costco.com] 10,000 Watt, electric start generator for $819. I am not familiar with this brand, but I presume you are getting good quality and backing from Costco.

Amazon [amazon.com] has it for $1,299. Not too many reviews [amazon.com] and they are mixed. The bad reviews seem to focus on it blowing a gasket within the first couple months of purchase, but one of those reviews said that problem was related to just a specific lot of generators.
