Edit: 2 part question. Since I don't have an external enclosure, I would need either one of those or an SATA to USB cable to allow cloning my current drive, right? I plan to put my current drive into my old, old laptop and basically trash it's 80g hd, although I may still have an old, old enclosure that would work with that drive - it probably has an old, old, old 20G drive in it.
if you have an externel USB HDD or network drive you can probably create an W7 image (assuming you are on Win7 or 8 and no spare enclosure) and do the image restore straight to the new drive. Also can do the cloning on a desktop PC as well if you have one.
