Scosche Revive Dual USB Car Charger USB12V2 - $4 AC at Newegg

There is more to a car charger than just offering a USB port. The ones you posted are 'slower' than this one.

That's incorrect according to published specs. Both are "faster" than the Schosche.

Output: 5V DC / 2.1 Amps

sheesh. could they make that charger any bigger??

i have a dual charger that's sits almost flush with outlet. sure it cost more, but for me i'd pay a lot to avoid that eyesore in my truck.

This works as a basic charger, but there's no way it provides 3A like a iPad charger. In fact, based on my phone's battery monitor it doesn't even provide a steady 1A charging. My phone's 1A car charger is better.

All mfg published specs should be questioned, for consistency as well as honesty, but we know anecdotes are no better as the final word on any product.

I use two of the dual-port chargers I posted. They handle my S3 and other gadgets as fast as my home brick chargers. Individual results depend on lots of things including each vehicle's electrical system.

Aesthetically, those flag-pole chargers look ridiculous. IMO of course.
