I have the most basic model above for several years (usb 2 only), I didn't know it it shouldn't be able read 3TB HDDs...that said I've never had a problem with it reading my 3TB WD drives...

I've been waiting for a good deal on a USB 3.0 one, although I'm tempted to upgrade to a eSATA one for the price.

Was having my eyes on Sans Digital 4 bays eSata enclosure once on sale for $79 AR to move files between external drives, now 2 bay docking station at $17 will do the job well enough. Note, port multiplier (which I already had one in my PC) is needed for the second bay to work in this item.

When the time comes to replace my two 2TB drives in my Synology NAS with two 3TB ones, I can use the old drives in the Duet for back-ups and archiving!
