My bios says it on startup when in IDE and AHCI mode, so I left it at that.

Edit: It says something similar to OCZVERTEX280GB 1.37

Edit 2: Battlefield 3 takes 29 seconds from join server to ingame. This used to take over 6 minutes on my 1TB WD Blue. CounterStrike: Global Offensive takes just over 3 seconds from join server to picking teams in-game.

Why I never bought an SSD before this, I have no idea. This SSD is FAST!

Checked the bios but not there. But found it in the Intel Rapid storage app. Firmware is 1.35. Now question is how do I update it and should I update it at all ? TIA

NVM, I figured how to do that. But since this is my primary drive, I will have to wait until I put back the original HDD. Will try it later.

Drive still working as fast as advertised at 70% full.

Glad that you figured it out, but unless there is a specific reason stated by users / the Mfg. - I would make it a point to update to the absolute latest available firmware possible.

Just imagine that 1.37 is a total of 37 tweaks to the firmware since the original release in order to improve reliability, stability, and longevity.

Take every improvement available simply for peace of mind, imho.

I received today my Agility 3.
Placed in my SATA external enclosure and it was visible, I was happy to find 100% "life left", only 10 hours of use - like new! I did not try to write anything on it, I stopped the machine and connected internally to a sata port.
From there everything went downhill: first I saw the drive in the system, but as soon as I started AS SSD Benchmark on it, it will run for a couple of seconds then the drive will disappear from the system and AS SSD will terminate with an exception.
Reboot and just tried to access the drive - no chance.
I changed the sata cable, sata port and yes, I'm using the latest BIOS for my motherboard and I am running in AHCI mode since I have another Sammy 830 as my primary drive.
I removed the Agility from the system and put it in a SATA-USB enclosure -> the damn thing does not even show up in the USB devices.
I guess I was unlucky and dealt a bad hand...

As enticing as the Agility deal is price-wise, I would fully recommend anyone interested in OCZ stick with the Vertex drives.
Not sure why there is such a difference between the two, but the Agility drives just seem to have problems that you don't find in the Vertex series for some reason.
Good luck getting it sorted out.
As for you primary drive, the Samsung - you really can't do better imo in terms of reliability for an SSD.

It is not a "deal" once you start paying for RMA, and not counting the time you spend trying to sort out things with the drive, especially if you follow all the recommendations from OCZ support before them admitting they gave you a dud.

They ask you to put the drive aside and let it (rest!?), get new SATA 3 (certified - wtf!?) cables, not twisted, reset BIOS, put drive on sata 0 and a lot of other funny things, I even tried standing in my head while booting the computer but no luck.

I tried this morning in a different computer (Intel based and pretty new machine, sata 0 port, tested sata 3 cable , bios defaults !) - same behavior, the drive is not recognized by BIOS.

Hey, OCZ, for the records I had an Agility 3 before, bought it for a friend, drop it in my eSata enclosure, format it, ran AS SSD and another quick test, then put it in the system and booted to make sure it works, copied a few files, browse the drive and then gave it to my friend - different machine; I asked him to update firmware then he installed OS on it and still running without issues after about 8 months.

Got two 120GB Vertex 2s. Came with 1.35, updated to 1.37.
Been hammering away at them for the past couple of days. Absolutely no problems, just like my two other 120GB Vertex 2s and three 240GB Agility 3s

I just picked up a 30GB OCZ Vertex Plus drive for $34.99 -$7 = $27.99. Perfect for an HTPC.
