Most useless terms: ASAP - how bout earlier? YMMV - isn't that life? Do ___ going forward - any other way? I used to work in tech support for an electronics manufacturer. I would really be careful buying any refurbed items of this complexity such as an SSD or platter hard drives. Usually the refurb consists of changing a bad chip on the board and not all repair techs are created equal. What usually ends up happening is they stress some other component during the repair which ends up failing prematurely. On an item like this where a human does the soldering it's really hit or miss. Hate to say it but the original machines are more reliable usually on complex electronics soldering. Just my opinion.
FYI this deal appears to be a repost of one earlier this morning.

like beerbellybob above said...OCZ and refurbished for $10 cheaper?...i don't think it's a deal at all...plus the cheapest ones are SATA II stuff...the kingston v300 deal from staples is an even better deal...120gb SATA III with generally positive reviews for $72 and brand spanking new

I purchased 9 of these already for a small business that I work at. All on client desktops used for word processing web browsing ect. im 2 months in with no problems at all.
HDtune average 140mb on sataII core 2 duo stations. Boot times are amazing and accessing simple word docs are snappy. Night and day even on older technology, all the girls are like OMG so fast LOLIve never had issues with OCZ like some have hand in the past though. The one thing ive always done was update to current firmware. Refurbish 120gb at $56 is a deal in my book I spend more on going to a movie =P |

I'm a glutton for punishment..... I just couldn't pass up a SSD for 40 bucks. |

I find it strange the lots of people bash OCZ so much. I have never had an issue with them and have tons of their products (PSU, RAM, & SSDs). Well I guess I had ddr2 ram stick give out on a backup PC the other day but it was like 6 years old. Not even worth the time trying to RMA it.
Really considering jumping on that 80gb SSD for my current netbook/future cheapy laptop. edit: in for one at $40! :p Last edited by bigmace; 02-28-2013 at 06:59 AM.. |

One of these days, I am going to pull the trigger and get an SSD. I just can't seem to pull the trigger yet. Guess I'm still living in the stone age. Ahhhh....I still fondly remember saving my programs to a recorded tape on my TI 99/4A back in the 80s. At least it wasn't punch cards. hehe
