Why has nobody mentioned the 13" version for only $200 more??? The price for that one at walmart is $1,391.52 which is about a $490.00 in savings. That seems to be a much better deal. I am going to see if Walmart will price match that one. I will post back.

I played with this laptop at the MS store. It is pure crap. They keyboard and touchpad is terrible. Keyboard's button pushes deep into its own slot--I thought I was going to poke a hole through the motherboard. The touchpad is an Elantech. Yep, remember the Vizio's touchpad that people complained about? If so, you'll love this laptop's touchpad!
The cosmetics is nice as hell though

Thanks for the info. Tempting at $699; at $899 (Microsoft Surface Pro territory...yes, I know it's still less!), not as much. I like the 11" form factor; I need to carry something that holds local data and can RDP and easily connect to a monitor, and that 11" screen fits the bill perfectly.

SOOOO Angry with Frys.
They call me and tell me it's an "open box demo" I say no problem! Pick it up on Sunday OK? Sure. Drive 30 minutes to the store. Wait 45 minutes for five different employees to scour the store. Find out it's actually broken and going to be sent back to Acer. Didn't call me or anything. Drive 30 minutes home furious. :-( |
