great for people addicted to starcrack, but for me their coffee is really expensive . I just stick to the free crappy coffee I get at work.

Confirming more stuff: you can buy gift cards using a Starbucks card, and you can use the $5 you get from this promotion to buy gift cards (I just did this!). Registered the new gift cards I bought into separate accounts, and transferred the $10 from each card ($5 initial and $5 from promotion) into my main card.
