I could never understand why 70% off at xtreme guard always get so much thumbs up.
1- They jack the "Regular Price" up and then throw in 70% and SDer goes crazy thinking theres a huge discount and a good deal. They practically have 70% all the time.. 2- The quality of their screen protector is not that great IMHO. and they are a PITA to put on. it's rubbery and sticky with less clarity. not like most protector that are kinda smooth and hard and just slap on. 3- they seem to make alot of mistakes with their shipping and getting the wrong item. even with the 70% the price is on par with what you pay for. On the bright side. I ordered from them a few times and they made mistakes but they are responsive and settle issues to my satisfaction. (And the are only like 20minutes from me ) =================================
My days as a sales person @ bestbuy Customer: This stupid phone I bought last week won't work right Me: So it's the phone thats stupid and not you right? Customer: I'm looking for an easy way to access my media files with my laptop when I'm in the yard. Me: Sports Authority is having a sale on walking shoes. |

surprise surprise surprise. every ~3 weeks or so this pops up. lol it should have a permanent place on slickdeals. I'll bet a sizable chunk of their revenue results from slickdeals publicity.
for the price--$2 or less--it's decent. VERY thick compared to other wet-apply protectors I've tried. feels a little gummy/clingy (i.e. nothing like hard glass). Noticeably tinted blue, slight degradation in screen clarity--but hey, you probably won't notice because you'll adapt. Peeled off fairly easily around the corners because the cutouts on my particular phone (droid DNA) were unintelligent--instead of small holes for the camera and sensor, it had giant U-shaped divots that peeled up easily. Would probably be less of an issue if you use it without a case. on some 'xtremeguard' thread in December, some guy was foaming at the mouth defending these, ranting like 30 replies to tell everyone that any dissatisfaction was a result of user incompetence. edit:// OH, and when I bought it, it arrived in a regular envelope with no protection. The envelope had pressed against some specks of debris during transit, which left permanent dent impressions. Again, for the price it's decent, just don't expect excellent quality control or anything. The only reason I bought this was because the protector I wanted took longer to ship, and this was basically my interim protector. Last edited by penguillama; 03-01-2013 at 12:29 AM.. |

Many folks like myself have wasted a ton of money on vastly more expensive wet install protectors and have seen very little difference in performance or protection. Granted the screen protectors are not as "snazzy' or well packaged as the more expensive ones, but for 1/10th the cost they do just fine for most people. These 75% deals or better are pretty regular, I would never pay full price or even half price, but at 75% or higher off they are a great option for many people. With the increase in personal gadgets and mobile devices, these are pretty much the only game in town for affordable phone protection. cheap, fast, good - pick any two.

I personally hate these screen protectors. Yes they installed well but overtime, the back of my galaxy s3 was getting a blue tint (white phone) from my jeans. That I didn't seem to mind but a week later I noticed on the front screen protector itself there was tinting. Peeling the screen protector off and holding it to the light I saw a dark blue film that obviously rubbed off my jeans. Never had this issue with others
However, for the price, as most people have stated this is still a great deal. Unless you're picky like me :p |
