Yup, curse those third party trade in companies who actually know the value of a PC vs. the in store Staples trade in to their easy tech associates who are supposed "experts" but wouldn't know a Celeron 300A vs. an i7 when you traded it in. lolz

No drinks tonight unfortunately, but it's wishful thinking on my part I suppose. I didn't say I had trouble recycling it, and although it powers up, I don't think it gets past post. Although the details on the flyer doesn't say it has to boot to an OS.... Now that I think about it I think it came preloaded with XP so it's probably not going to qualify at all anyways... oh well

I'm sure the discount value has NOTHING to do with what you trade in but rather the amount you're paying for the new computer.

i was just looking at the flyer for next week where it refers ro ink and says 20% back and $2.00 per cartridge and then noticed in fine print it says $4.00 per cartridge--am i reading this wrong or is this another one of staples advertising errors

Absolutely right. I tried these tra-in deals couple times in the past, they offer peanuts that you can easily sell at CL website and do not have to buy anything back (that is the requirement for most companies, B&M or web)

Same should be said for those that voted that it's "a great deal." At this time, it's comparable to Schrodinger's now-famous feline; neither a good deal nor a bad one. Due to this fact, I downvoted to keep the deal at zero where it should be until more info becomes available.

I have a macbook which is over 4 years old.. (between 4 and 5). They don't say how much will i get from the trade-in. But in general this deal seems pretty sweet for people with macbook.

If I send in my laptop, and it doesn't qualify for some reason, will they send it back?
