Just got the evaluation report today and I got shafted:
I've asked that they provide photo proof of the alleged damage else they ship it back so I can see for myself. If they continue to shaft customers as they did to me, I smell a class action lawsuit coming..... |

I got my valuation today and was offered $75 because of a "loose hinge."
I'm betting that EVERY single item they get is sent back with a revised value. I bought a laptop because of this staples promo and feel like I'm getting ripped off. What exactly is "loose hinge"? |

I'm thinking about trading in my ancient Macbook Air that I don't even use any more. The website says that any Macbook Air is okay, and mine has a failing HDD (but still boots up just fine) so I think it would be a hassle to sell myself. If I get less than $400 though, I'll be pissed, and from the looks of it, lots of people are not getting the full/expected amount....

The hinge isn't loose to the point where it is noticeable.
I would have noticed it if it was an issue. The value also said, "scratched housing." Does anyone have an old laptop that doesn't have light scratches on the plastic? The scratches aren't even visible unless you get up close to it, but they declared a 25% decrease in trade in because of these two things. Their value is completely subjective to their whim since they already have your device. |

I'm not particularly happy, I traded in an old IBM WIN95 laptop, looked like it had hardly been used. I thought they were going to dock me for the battery, I sent in 2 but they didn't hold much of a charge I guess I should have taken a video of the screen, I never saw it flicker and it worked just fine and they knock 25 for a "Defective LCD Display" and "flickering"
