That's the best price so far, last deal was $23.49 for Deluxe and $25 for Premium.

How's HR Block compared to turbo tax?

I purchased the Delux version after seeing this deal. However, I did not find until just now that on Amazon's website (the description below the product) that if I have purchased stocks, I need to buy Premium version. Could someone please confirm if this is true?

Just a quick note for those looking to get their taxes done on the cheap. If you meet certain criteria (mostly income-based) then you might be eligible for free tax provided by IRS-trained VITA volunteers. I do it myself on Thursday evenings.

Got this since the price was great - hope it's good software. I couldn't figure out if the State included e-file but figured it was worth the gamble.

You will be fine.. Buy Delux version. I used it last year.
If you have hundreds of trades in year and you don't want to type manually then buy premium.
If you have only 10- 20 trades delux is fine.

I was once a long-time H&R block user (since it was called "Taxcut"). They haven't updated the program at all in 7 or 8 years, just programmed in the new tax forms each year. I switched to Turbotax this year because H&R Block business had a show stopping crash bug not fixed 20 days before the corporate file deadline (3/15) - not sure if it is fixed even now.
H&R Block for individual taxes usually works, but I didn't realize how much better Turbotax was until I started using it this year. Definitely a case of getting what you pay for.
