I would suggest retracting that and submitting one with $67 to amodems. I just did that and it was accepted.

Just swapped out my modem and got one from the eBay sellers referenced above (SB6141). Took 2 days to get here. Plugged it in and walked through the steps that popped up from Comcast when I connected to the web. Took about 10 minutes, no phone calls. Easy as could be.

At $7/month as a rental fee it will take the better part of a year to pay off but it was worth it just to reduce what I pay Comcast. The less money they can pry out of my hand the better.

I have this modem (bought from Amazon a couple months back). It works well for me but when I used a splitter on the same connection it would drop the signal at times. There are quite a few complaints about this modem online dropping signal, but it's likely from people doing something like I did (I wasn't even using the other connection and it was a high quality splitter). Some people suggest the PSU that comes with it is not the best and can have issues. So check those two things if you run into issues! Otherwise, it's a great modem that I hope works for many years so I can save myself from Comcast's wallet rape.

Yeah leagues above a docsis 2.0 modem, but the 6141 is an 8 channel bonding modem while the 6121 only does the four. Still more than enough for what ISP's are pushing but not in the next couple years if you want the premium stuff.
