From previous threads on this deal when it has popped up before, it would seem that Best Buy has poor quality control on their refurbs. Stories of people getting units that were never repaired, units that were NOT the 5th Generation, etc etc. I'd stay away, pay the extra money for the refurb from Apple.

Yep I got one a few weeks back. Works perfect. Top was scratched quite a bit but cant tell unless you look at it up close.
Little risk here since you can return it if not as advertised. If it works for a few weeks then you shouldn't have any problems in the future. It just sits there. There are no moving parts. I got one last time BB had this sale. The PSU was a dud, but I took it into the Apple Store, and the unit was still under warranty. They overnighted a new PSU and it's been working just fine ever since. It was a little scratched on top, but not a big deal to me.

Same device + 2TB hard drive. The transformer is inside the Time Capsule vs the power brick you get with the Airport Extreme. I know people were down on the TC, but I think this latest model is pretty good. I've been running it for over a year and it stays pretty cool. The older models used to heat up like a frying pan. |

If I remember right in one of the last threads about this people were able to activate the one year warranty through apple by entering their serial number on the website. Anybody know if this is still possible?
