I've been waiting for a deal on this thing. Not sure if I can pull the trigger even though even with just the controller it seems worth it. Probably would just end up flipping zombiu. Provided it doesnt go out of stock seems like I have all march to make up my mind though. Thanks OP |

The problem with Nintendo is that they're sacrificing raw power for their hardware for gimmicky controllers. If the system was more powerful than what it is then the price maybe wouldn't be too bad but there really aren't that many good games out right now. I expect a major price drop leading up to the PS4 launch but it will probably take a couple of years for this system to be a worthy buy.

I'm not sure I would consider myself a 'Nintendo-fanatic', and I bought one day one. Everybody is different, for me $300 is a console sweet spot. The lack of games may bother some, but I enjoyed Mario and Scribblenaughts and of course the price. Also I got Black Ops 2. The system is still new, there are lots of games for me to play on other systems in the meantime.

the wii u gamepad is no gimmick! its very innovative and really fun to play with! it adds a lot of tension when playing zombi U. i do find it funny when people bash the wii u controller's touchscreen as "gimmicky", and not the sony's touchpad controller. 1) the touchscreen gamepad is really innovative and fun! the next xbox and playstation 4 just seems like another console with upgraded graphics that will pump out generic shooter games. big whoop. 2) the wii u's upgraded ati 6770 video card is similar to ps4's 7xxx series video card. there wont be a big difference in terms of graphics between the nintendo/xbox/ps4. 3) price. nintendo at $350 is definitely the "best bang for your buck" system. playing next-generation games, having backwards compatibility, streaming movies on netflix, hulu, youtube, and browsing the internet is really nice. as for the other consoles, xbox will be expensive and on top of that i'd have to buy their monthly subscription just to play online! and playstation will probably be super expensive at maybe $500+ so there you go. i bought it after careful consideration, so please dont go around calling everyone who bought a nintendo a "nintendo fanatic". and im not trying to debate with anyone here, those points are just my thoughts of the system. |
