Nintendo Wii U ZombiU Deluxe Set for $350.99 Shipped (Via V.me at Newegg.com)

Damn CA tax. ZombiU is worth around $35--maybe $40 if you don't open it. Controller is around $35-$40ish also. Solid deal if you want a Wii U now and you don't get taxed.

Yeah I would agree with this. The Wii U hasnt impressed me, the games are repeats of other games on other systems but higher priced. The price for the system is high and the touchscreen gamepad thingy didnt win me over either. I am waiting for the new xbox to come out. However for people looking for a good price on a Wii U and dont want to wait this may be the ticket.

I'm curious to see what Microsoft has in store. There are rumors that the new system won't play used games and that you always have to be connected online to play a game. I'm not completely writing off the Wii U just yet but it's not looking so good right now for Nintendo and Microsoft.

I'm not sure what else Sony or ms can have up its sleeve. for the most part the systems will all be at or near the same power of each other. Sony didn't show anything that the wii-u can't do, just a matter of developer support. Nintendo has a much better 1st party game support than Sony. again depends on 3rd party support to make or break it to me

Well Nintendo 1st party support will continue to be aimed at the younger audience. I would argue that Sony's 1st party support is stronger than Nintendo, which just seems to rehash the same Mario style games for the last 20+ years.

Huh? Are you drunk? Just because it has cartoony/stylized graphics doesn't mean it's "aimed at kids", buddy . 1st-party support alone was enough to sell the console to me. Of course, I wish I'd waited for a deal like this where I could have sold ZombiU for $40 or so and gotten the console+nintendoland+pro controller for effectively $310 instead of 390 taxed/shipped like I did, but... that's my fault for adopting too early .

Those games can be very fun. I kept hearing how great xbox was and bought it a couple months ago. I tried Mass Effect..meh...tried Halo Reach (potential) and a few other games and I can understand the appeal. But...I can also understand how some people see xbox as a console with nothing but FPS games. It's not true, but based on the 1st party games I have seen it sure seems that way. PS3 seems to have better games, but it's expensive, the controller sucks, and online leaves something to be desired.

Then you have Nintendo. Easily the best stable of 1st Party games of the three. Up till now they have geared their games towards the younger audience. However, this Wii U with it's capabilities will have devs jumping on board to make more adult games i.e. Bayonetta 2, ZombieU, and who knows what else is in store. So seeing as Nintendo has now killed that argument about not having adult games, what about the argument that those other two do nothing but FPS? Where are their 'fun' for the whole family type of games? The Mario Galaxy games, Zeldas, Metroids, Smash Brothers, Donkey Kong...stack up against any of the other systems games for fun factor.

Wii dominated with SD graphics, Wii U can push native 1080 better than current systems. Will it play Crysis 3 all jacked up? Nope, but neither will PS4, because they've already announced specs and it's not that exciting. You're right about lack of games though, I'm planning to buy, just not in a hurry, though this deal is tempting.

Pretty standard launch, lots of cross-plats and couple exclusives. Nintendoland is no Wii Sports, but Mario at launch is a draw. The controller is pretty slick if you haven't used it you should give it a go, not a huge deal to play on the screen while something else is happening on the tv, but it's clever.

Nintendo is in pretty good shape, a down year, but they're sitting on a nice pile of cash, while Sony has been having a rough time financially (not helped by PS3), and Microsoft is doing fine but Xbox360 hasn't been a cash cow for them. It's a slow start for the Wii U, but I think console sales aren't going to be as explosive as they were in the past. Time will tell. My guess is after Sony confirming PS4 won't lock used games or require always online that Xbox won't either, they'd have to offer some pretty compelling benefits to offset those 'features'.

Smartphones and tablets have hurt the console and handheld gaming market. I know my kids spend less time playing our Wii, 360 and PS3 now that they have tablets and smartphones available to play. Plus it's a lot cheaper.

Well while I will agree Sony and Microsoft systems will be higher specs (also higher priced) I think Nintendo's Wii U will keep fairly well. And as install base increases which it will we will see more 3rd party support, I think that price wise the Wii U will stay pretty close to what it is but with more limited issue software/hardware bundles. And price will look better once compared to next gen systems rather than last gen bundles. Sure some people will be selling their systems going for the next thing but truth is I think alot of homes will have a Wii U sitting next to their PS4 or NextBox.

Here is Nintendo's main problem: How many people have a Wii? A ton. How many people actually play it? Not many.

There's no buzz over the Wii U because the Wii gimmick didn't keep most people interested long enough. The price is going to have to drop considerably to offset the meh factor people associate with the original Wii.
