I've been going back and forth between this and the Seasonic SS-300ET [newegg.com] for a while. With Newegg's current 10% off V.me promo code, the latter is $40.
I still lean towards the Seasonic since a) I trust their quality (it's an OEM version of the S12II line) and b) the lower wattage theoretically puts my build closer to an efficiency sweet spot. Is it worth the extra $20? Any thoughts? |

Same boat. Been waiting for it to go on sale.
I was going to get this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Pro...6817151117 but at $20, this is pretty hard to pass up. I might go for that 300 watt unit you just posted...hmmm Last edited by TommyGuns20; 03-01-2013 at 08:21 AM.. |

I have been using this for a while and have faced no problems. This is being used in my main PC, that has a couple of drives but no dedicated GPU, so is enough. I can vouch for its quality, and I think 20 is a good price (although at times you can save 2 or 3 dollars more)
on the other hand, I am looking for (such a good) deal on 750+ W supplies since I wish to upgrade to a dedicated GPU and CX430 wont suffice there, however have never found any good deals on higher W Corsairs |

Cables aren't sleeved (it'll be in a HTPC, so who cares) and it doesn't come with a power cable, but the internals seem to be superior. Hmm... ------------- I have the 550W version of the G-series in my desktop, btw - it's an awesome unit. For general use (i.e. not rendering video, etc.) my UPS says it's pulling 76W - and that's with an i7-3770K, 32 GB DDR3, 4x HDDs (RAID10), SSD, 5 case fans, and a Noctua NH-D14 CPU cooler! Silent, too. Needless to say, I'm impressed. Last edited by NORDO; 03-01-2013 at 08:44 AM.. |
