Just curious, when does one need a prybar? (please no witty remarks)
Also... I have a set of 1/4 and 3/8 sockets and drivers, that lasted me a decade... why do people keep buying them? Upgrading?? They don't break and most have lifetime warranty. What do you do with your old sockets and ratchets? TIA.

For me I am upgrading. I have an odd assortment of various sockets and wrenches that I've picked up through the years and basically wanted to get some quality sets. I also got them for the cases because i travel a lot for work and need to bring the tools on the plane with me. For the old stuff I just throw it into my loaner tool collection (for my roommates/neighbors to use). So if you already have a nice set and don't have a reason to get them then I wouldn't. I would also think that some people are flipping them as well.

For the pry bars not really a necessary thing either but nice to have. They are basically mini crowbars. I needed them on a few crates I've had to open when my crowbar was too big to use and ended up having to use a big screwdriver instead.

Basically... for me to get ONE complete set of the 'old' Craftsman tools made in the USA with the lifetime warranty.

I have at least three smaller sets over the years with missing sockets same with my wrenches... so for around $50 was able to get complete sets of both.

I can sell at a garage sale my smaller sets.

Its basically too good to pass up for something I use.

Thanks Tellingthem and boltman2007 for you insight on this. SD is definitely a good place to get some wise ideas besides deals. Repped.

Thanks man, I was about to change the OP to reflect that the smaller socket sets are now only $9, but I hadn't noticed the pry bar set had dropped.

FYI: Like Ch3apSk8 so nicely pointed out the pry bar set is now only $18 (it was $20). I also noticed all the small socket sets are now $9 (they were $10). Get em' while they're hot!

Pry bars are useful for car mechanics when they need to separate big suspension parts or need leverage to lift a heavy part temporally. Or to separate accessories on an engine so that the belt has enough tension. Just need to be careful not to damage anything. I carry one in my trunk for emergencies. Great deal BYW but I have too many sets already.

removing tile, removing floor boards...the list goes on

it's good to keep one of these (preferably the longer one) in the trunk of your car as well

Click on the "Store Pickup" option, and see if a store near you has it in stock. Can't guarantee they will have the same price in-store, but some will nicely price match to the website.
