Looks like the price just dropped on the 2GBs. 2GB Double D is now showing up as $180 AR for me, $160 for Core Edition (though still OOS).

Very interesting indeed. The $20 price drop does make it even more slick for the Double D version but so does the $160 price point for the core version.
Any advise? Is it worth spending $20 extra? Thanks.. |

Also XFX Double D FX-785A-CDFC Radeon HD 7850 2GB 256-bit GDDR5 [newegg.com] = $180 AR (the rebate on this model is unique and can be combined with the above rebate. [newegg.com]) Looking at both rebates both say original UPC is required. So Idon't see how you can combine both. |

Anyways - $180 for the Double D 2GB methinks is good enough for me... This will go to a 6 hour duty (average) HTPC rig to make it a more potent Living room wide screen Gaming rig as well. The ZeroCore on these Radeon cards are just perfect as power draw throttles down when the card is not heavily used or the screen is in sleep mode... |

I would recommend making sure that your motherboard has a compatible PCIE slot. There has been reports of issues with versions older than 2.1 |

A 1GB card is fine especially for 1080p gaming.
The bottom line is a 1GB card is fine especially for 1080p gaming UNLESS you absolutely must run Skyrim using unofficial, third-party extremely high resolution texture modifications. |
