You are right about the threads. I did misspeak about the cores. However, I still do disagree about the dedicated threads being tapped into. GPU on the ps3 sucks, but the dedicated threads make up for the gpu.
A little story I heard from my cousin who works for Nvidia. To make a long story short, when Sony was developing the PS3, they came to Nvidia to do the graphics. Nvidia originally offered them their 8800 chip (their top of the line then) and when they were doing the talks, the engineers sent to meet with Sony in Hawaii got the feeling that the Sony people were simply picking their brain to develop their own GPU and weren't going to follow through with the deal.
Needless to say, the talks fell through and from hearing rumors they learned that Sony was indeed trying to develop their own GPU. Fast forward a year or two later and Sony comes back to Nvidia to ask for their GPU. Now since the Nvidia CEO smelled blood in the water, he upped the price from the initial offer and only offered them their older 7800 series. Sony, having squandered their time had to eat it and that is why the Sony PS3 had crappier graphics than the Xbox 360..
Yeah, I know about that rule, But whats to stop someone from posting "Steam SUmmer SALE!" and posting repost on everything in that sale?
Probably the lack of a definitive start date. If they had a start date, the posting would already have been mentioned as a head's up. I wouldn't put it past a BOT to date Gabe just to get that kind of intel!
it's amazing how quickly the price for this game has been dropping. wish dishonoured would drop this low, i'd buy it for sure!
This is a classic example why being patient pays off. That certain feeling of being able to buy something right out of the gate dies rather quickly when the next great deal pops up, and you are less than $10 away from being able to get it, given that you blew your whole gaming wad on one $60 title.
Square-Enix prices their games pretty aggressively. I think though that this isn't a reflection of the game being bad itself, but the trend in game sales in general. I know EA and other developers/publishers price their games pretty aggressively now. I remember reading about someone from EA actually discussing this trend that it was more profitable to price the games lower earlier in the product cycle because they would make it back up in volume. This is probably true considering the size of my backlog. If I knew games would stay at $50-$60 for a year or more I would only buy when I was ready (which is usually never due to backlog) versus buying it now at a low price and again never playing it due to my ever expanding backlog.
This plays into what I have been saying about digitally kept copies vice store boxed copies.
Back when the stores had literally up to two and a half shelves full of games, they could control the price longer. They fought for, and got the public to go kicking and screaming into the digital format. (Piracy, theft, etc was the battle-cry). Now this new format has left them with very few options, since competition on this front is fierce, and the product becomes like supermarket produce and must be sold quickly in order to prevent a total loss of any sale. it serves them right, and we are all much happier for their stupidity.
Lol, what about the already existing rule that you still have to use the search button to see if the deal has already been posted? Clearly I was in the wrong here... I didn't bother to update it because I JUST WOKE UP. Deal was alive when I was asleep.
how is that complaining? its a simple thing and you've been here long enough to know it. Thanks for updating.
Maybe if you re-read my post, you will understand I meant you didn't do anything wrong. We all make mistakes. But saying you couldn't find it is hard to believe. It was on the top of the first page. You also spelled hitman wrong in your original title maybe that was why.
LOL I love that the guy who gave me a hard time for mentioning he should put a price in his title is brow beating someone for not searching before reposting a deal.
Xbox yes, its more down to earth. PS3s actually have more gaming power than computers. Look at the amount of DEDICATED cores it has. Designers still haven't fully tapped into the PS3's full potential processing power in their games.
