I received an email this morning from Bodybuilding.com for this promotion: Buy 1 2lb Phase 8 at $29.97, get 1 free. That's 4lbs for $29.97.

http://www.bodybuilding.com/store...8_03012013

Shipping starts at $5.98. It doesn't increase much if you want to add more.

There may be a coupon code for an additional 10% off floating around (if anyone has one, please post).

Also, don't forget to add your 2 free samples.

This is a pretty sweet deal because GNC with the Gold Card discount has 2lb at $23.99 (plus taxes and shipping).

Phase 8 is a blend protein (not a pure whey).

excuse the n00b question here... but please do answer -

Does this powder (mixed with milk) make you gain weight? Ive used some powders before that made me gain too much weight.
I'm really looking for a good after-workout drink that gives protein and does not cause me to pack on the pounds.
Protein powder in itself does not make you gain weight. When you eat above your maintenance levels, you gain weight, regardless if you're taking a protein powder or not.

But that's another topic... better suited for the bodybuilding.com forums. Google "IIFYM" if you need help finding out how many calories and macronutrients you need to take in.

BTW. TU. Good deal on protein powder. And thanks for the 10% off codes, guys!

Thanks for the answers. I understand that *in theory* you wouldn't gain weight just from the powder, I'm just asking for some actual experiences with this particular powder (i.e. bad ingredients)

the only thing is... i understand that the blend for this product is different compared to ON, plus the fact that ON's scoop size is smaller, i wonder if the ON product for 10lb is a better deal... you get 150 something scoops vs 100 here...

Never used this protein before so I can't comment on it specifically, but just doing some simple math here:

$36.95 for 4 lbs of Phase 8=44 servings (each serving is 42g)

1 serving=26g protein

Per serving cost for Phase 8=$0.84

Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard at regular Amazon price:

$52.99 for 5 lbs=71 servings (each serving is 32g)

1 serving=24g protein

Per serving cost for ON Gold standard=$0.75

Never used again but simply if you order 4.6 *2 lb tub equations would change with free shipping and all

9.2 lb for $44 shipped
roughly 1 serving = $0.44/- Smilie
And then it looks like great price isn't it??

A noob question, is Hydrolysate form a preferred choice when it comes to protein? I am still new at this, any answer would be most appreciated. Thanks.
