Even worse is the creation of the income tax helped push power to the federal government and away from the states. Now the states send the feds money and then jump through hoops and do the fed's bidding to get some back.

By all means, if you can come up with a better way to run society, then lets hear it, then lets see you put it into action to prove it works. Until then all I hear from the Republicants and Tea Baggers in this thread is wahhhhhhhhhh wahhhhhhhhh, I wanna take my bat and ball and go home cause the big bad government is taking some of my money. Wahhhhhh. The 1%ers can afford a private military, fire, police, health care, construction, etc force; can you? Taxes are part of being in a civilized society, get over it.

lol, the rest of the people can't afford a private military, but they can afford a gun. But big government wants to take those away too.

Ummmmmm, I'm sure we would all agree about a govt that provides for military, fire, police, and a few other programs that benefit ALL citizens. Construction, as in roads, should be paid for by gasoline and car taxes as those are the people who directly use and benefit from the roads.

What we disagree with are programs and money spent on useless things or people who dont contribute anything to our country.

It's set up that way to make people think it was never their money to begin with.

If people had to write a check every month for their taxes, we would see tax reform and smaller government faster that a speeding bullet.
