Original Post

Been waiting for this saw to go back on sale. Sale price is $189.99, add any $10.01 filler to make total $200.00 and use Promo Code "SEARSTOOLS" and it will take an additional $35.00 off making it $154.99 Cool for Saw and 10.01 for whatever else you want. I ordered an extra 10 Inch saw blade for my filler.

Total Savings off saw is roughly $95.00!!!

Would this be able to cut tile? I've been looking at a miter saw for some crown I want to put in, but just this wknd my wife wanted me to install a backsplash. If I could get a saw that did both...

I added the Deluxe Miter Stand for $116.99
http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_1015...916490000P

Total price for both is $306.98

The SEARSTOOLS coupon code is $35 off $200 or $60 off $300

Pre-tax checkout price of $246.98 for miter saw and rolling stand
People getting in on this may also want to check out the Porter Cable stand that is on clearance at Lowes. Some are getting it for $75.60.

I have the HF version, it has 2 fuses on the saw and includes 2 spare fuses. It blew 3 times on me over 2 small projects involving perhaps 50 cuts total. It worked fine for me except for the frequently blown fuses, it wasn't a pain to replace but annoying to stop mid project to replace; and they didn't stock the fuses in my store.

I hope this Craftsman one is more reliable...

now its showing up on sale for $170. Now harder to justify "filler" for coupon
Its now on sale for 170.99, apply coupon SEARSTOOLS for $15 off and it comes out to 155.99 with no filler needed. Much easier deal, then buy the Porter Cable stand at Lowes for 75.60 or 113 if in stock at your lowes

I will need to repair my deck in the spring. Would 10" be sufficient or should I be looking at 12"?

So I bought the following:

Miter Saw ($170.xx after 10% automatic discount on sale price)
Two-pack blades (40T and 60T, $26.99 from $29.99 after 10% automatic discount on sale price)
Roller Stand (for supporting longer pieces of wood or trim - $13.49 from $24.99 after 10% automatic discount on sale price)

Used the SEARSTOOLS code for $35 off $200.

Total after discounts came to about $176 with FREE SYM shipping!

Awesome deal. Thanks OP!

Now to locate a good miter stand (my Lowe's doesn't have the PC stand on sale) and then crown molding and wainscoting, here I come!

Btw, the slider gives you an extra couple of inches of cutting, correct? So if you need to cut wood, say 12-14" this should be good to go?

Thanks.

Saw the review that it can't cut 4x4
Unless you fliping the wood over

I guess I'll have to go with 12" blade

It does cut 2x6, I think it should be able to cut 2x8

I bit... Do I need this? No
It seems like a decent saw and price for a guy who might use this 3 times a year.

Thanks and repped.

Went ahead and purchased. I have a 12 ridged sliding compound, to big and heavy to lug around. I also have a makita 10, great but sometimes to small. Think this will be a great medium to lug around and will work for most uses. Thanks.

I did quit a bit of research on sliding miter saw. Eventually bought a 7 1/2 inch sliding saw from Lowes see here [lowes.com]. It is more than enough required for me. Best part, I can swap blades between my circular saw and miter saw. And it is accurate as well.
